Welcome Back In 2017 To Planet Earth And It's Madness...!!
11th January 2017
Welcome back to 2017 and I truly hope you all have a pleasant Christmas period both happy and safe and I hope your dreams all come true in 2017.
My Christmas (Peter Hulbert) as expected was a quiet one and it's not a bad thing as it is all a bit hectic for me and I prefer to keep away from the line of fire for so many reasons. As many people know, my life to a variety of changes on the lead up to Christmas in 2016 which culminated in a truly breath of fresh air of freedom of all commitment and abuse from the one person I didn't expect to be a creature of deceit. I don't altogether agree with new years resolutions but there is an instance where you have an excuse to make one and mine is simple, once out of my life, stay out forever. I have learned through experience that when you look under the fingernails of people, the dirt that they so frequently hide is dirtier than the people they so quickly criticise in a suggestion that they are whiter than white. Once locked out of my life, is locked out for life.
In life we all have our own mountains to climb, our own ambitions to conquer and when you need to cross a ravine, the only advice I can offer is be very careful whom you befriend in this world as all too often the enemy at the gate can also be in your bed. Only burn the bridge behind you when you are 100% convinced that you will never need it to return or step backwards. My 2017 started with a positive note and my plans albeit late, are at least moving forward and whilst I'm on a lonely vehicle of life, it's better to be alone with your thoughts than to realise that you are surrounded by people who make you feel alone. I managed to navigate my way through yet another Christmas and when I saw on the news just how many people didn't make it this far with us all, I thank my lucky star that I made it and my thoughts go out to those families who lost there loved ones at such a memorable time and have to face the new year suffering there loss.
On the positive side of life, my booking for Valentines day 2017 was accepted and I feel blessed that I didn't have to make any embarrassing gestures or creeping statements to the food establishment in which to secure a table of such high prestige on such a love struck night. I always have the rule that so long as they have ketchup, who cares about the quality of the food except all too often I have been proved that this theory is not a truly working model or one that ever has a 100% success rate as many a late night Taxi driver can either confirm or agree with. So, where do you go from here I hear you ask.....well it's simple. "Wherever my heart takes me" and without any real delay. The quicker I put the past behind me the better and the quicker I wipe my eyes and start focusing forward, the better for all around me who have been so supportive in so many ways.

Today (Thursday) was a strange kind of day for so many reasons, not least of which was the strange weather that arrived on mass today with snow, rain and more snow following up closely with Ice forecast for tonight but the news that broke today was quite sad which was the tragic loss of a footballing great "Graham Taylor" who's life started at Lincoln City and moved throughout a few clubs including Elton John's Watford and Aston Villa to name a few but for a period of time, Graham was the England manager who took so much abuse from the press to which was so wrong and yet had so much respect from the players who stood strong by Graham through those troubled times. It was announced that he died suddenly today and my prayers go out to his family today.
The rest of my day was taken up at the farm to which as many people know is a passion of mine and has become a pleasure rather than a chore and I never need to be asked twice to go and do a little or lot of whatever it takes to make it all work.
Here is the family guard pig, he is a large ornament to which everyone that visits the farm, often have a picture with the porker made of plaster as the real ones won't stay still or worse still may start climbing over you with there muddy feet and odour to which was not produced by Channell. There were many visitors today and even with the cold weather, it still brings people out to enjoy the scenery and pleasant surroundings complete with the fresh air.
The view across the lawns and up toward the house are always so pleasant, they share a peaceful and harmonic approach to life to which we all strive to achieve. As you will see, there is a few wild animals chewing the lawn but there main duty is to provide fertiliser for the grass and also to keep the length of the grass in trim and short, so the humane way to deal with this is to give some stock an easy life and open contract of do your job or go to market.
Whilst you would not know it by looking at the pictures, the farm house is in the direct pathway of the famous "High Speed Train" that is scheduled to go through this area sometime in the future or sometime never depending upon your point of view. However, the good news is that the track and traffic will be about 100 feet below as there are plans in place to tunnel through the hillside and as such it will be minimum fuss for the farm. I provided two pictures with the view up to the farm house for no apparent reason except that I did.
To the left is the Hen huts where the many chickens are kept. At present, they are all enjoying the winter indoors due to the cold and very windy conditions but in a few weeks time, they will all be out running around and doing whatever chickens like to do. The staff often say if you want to find Peter Hulbert he is likely to be at the back of the chicken hut looking after the pigs or sheep. I find the chickens kind of hard work and less respondent to anything except food. Once again, I have provided two pictures for no apparent reason except to say I took two pictures and loaded them up onto the blog.
