Chapter & Verse

9th July 2018

There is only one thing that is being talked about in England right now and for all the wrong reasons, I will refuse to cover the subject except to say that the atmosphere is wonderful and to see so many people enjoying themselves, waving, cheering and even dancing in the street is nothing short of pure heaven and what I say is "why not". It's one of those moments in time that such an event took place and brought so much hope to so many from so few. All that I will say is "it's coming home" shhhh...!!
So, the week and last few days in particular have been rather exciting by way of a political stance due to so much goings on in Parliament and the accusations surrounding "BREXIT" and lies are endless but our Prime Minister took her cabinet to Checkers in order to try and beat them into submission which has resulted in at least 3 cabinet ministers, two senior ones at that into resignation and I suspect this is not the end, but the beginning of the end in many ways for the Prime Minister who is accused of lying to the electorate and despite the biggest vote in history in our country and a clear win for the leave voters, she has decided to confirm that we are in fact leaving in name but in all other aspects, remaining indefinitely with no date to break the link in the chain. In other words, we shall be still ruled by others and the only difference will be one gold star will be removed from the European Flag.

I suspect as the week moves forward, it will become increasingly difficult for Teresa May to form any kind of Government in which to rule or conclude any form of working relationship with countries in which to trade with and as such the expectation is that she will resign in some form and a new leader will be elected through the summer holiday with the potential for a snap election in the Autumn despite the public having no appetite for yet another election but the incoming Prime Minister can only justify this by saying he/she needs to hold a full mandate to drive forward the changes needed to make it all work and as such, protocol dictates that an election is required in which to do so. The world of "Peter Hulbert" is rather put on hold with all the exciting things like football and politics going on all around, the only thing that I can say is that my life is not so boring as the good things are taking place far far away in my life and whilst I suffer intolerable delays, they are at least happening and due for change very soon. So, what it leaves me to do is enjoy the sport of "Tour De France", Wimbledon, Football & of course the old favorite of bear knuckle boxing or to give it it's correct name "Politics" and it ain't going to get any more exciting than it is right now, so watch this space for the rules or engagement and await the referee appearing any time now.

So, here we are just 24 hours after the final of the world cup to which France were the ultimate winner and deservedly so. They were one of the favorites from the outset and the only large shock was teams like Brasil, Argentina, Germany all going out so early in the competition.
So, the UK is going into free fall with Theresa May and her demands upon BREXIT to which neither the people or the politicians appear to accept and even when they may agree something, we then have the un-elected members of the European Authority who reject everything that they didn't design themselves. The problem as Peter Hulbert sees it is that Europe want's to silence the people and treat us as replaceable and expendable in every aspect. If we speak out, we go to jail.

So, what has been happening in my world that might set fire to your excitement glands is really very little except to say that as always, very little ever happens here because all the good business is done somewhere else is what I am reliably informed and to that end, I concur in every aspect. For those who like to keep a close eye on where I am and what I do, you need to stop wasting you time shortly as I am about to take a lengthy period out of my life and schedule and spend some time away from our shores in the one place you thought I could not go. It always pays to have friends in good places to approve such things and as it spells a holiday of up to 52 weeks, you wasted your time hanging around like a fart in a phone box as you provided all the tools I required to decide your vale was zero and I don't need a dog and bark myself.

26th July 2018

So. we moved the calendar forward 10 more days since I last shared my thoughts but to be honest, despite the fact that the world rotates and the old saying that life goes on is in the main true, for people in the UK, we seem to be stuck in a time warp with a leader who gives all the signs of having a different agenda to the rest of us and whilst I am no politician, what I would say is it's long past the point of a change after all the bad feeling in order to prevent further unrest to which many well known politicians are now predicting. Train for Theresa me thinks and not soon enough.

So, here we are back in the midst of what has fast become a very memorable summer for all the wrong reasons and not least of which is the huge lack of water due to the excessively hot weather, prolonged heat with no rain and as always, lack of forward planning from the people who bury their heads in the sand. Let's face it, if I look back to March some 15 weeks ago, we had floods and snow everywhere and as such we should not be suffering from lack of water after such a short period of summer time.
I have been enjoying a few days out of the lime light and relaxing and under such stress, decided to enjoy watching the Tour De France of which I have to confess that my knowledge of cycling could be written in the head of a pin but the scenery and pure beauty of France has left me speechless in as much as it is pure beauty and so tranquil at every turn of the road. Some of the villages that the competitors go through are draped in history with such a charm of their own in every way. I have always said that France has an amazing history and one can only hope that it remains that way for many generations to come as the French should be commended for being so determined to protect both their traditions as well as there culture and I for one applaud them for doing so. The world may be a ruthless place to survive but when we look back, it will be history that we mark the test of time with and not modern changes to that history.

31st July 2018

We are at the last day of July and whilst it's been an eventful month, it's not been so fruitful for so many varied reasons. However, never to be downtrodden, tomorrow is August and what went down in July goes back up in August and the law of averages always means that the scales in life will balance in the end no matter what.
My City and my County of Yorkshire which is known throughout the world as "God's Own Country" is a little old fashioned in many ways and one of those million or so traditions is to take summer holidays in the summer time and to work that time around the 6 weeks school holiday and as such, many people have now left there homes and headed for the sea, be that sea in the UK or abroad. Many people head overseas because the sun is more of a guarantee but this year, our summer has been an exception and as our resorts are truly beautiful, anyone who booked a UK holiday have been very smart indeed and are probably laughing at all those airport and ferry delays and enjoyed temperatures far in excess of the likes of Spain or Greece and must be laughing inside for the extra time on the beach instead of the airport lounge. For those who are away on holiday right now, I wish you well and hope you are enjoying your time.

5th August 2018

We entered August with the heat and good weather just getting hotter and hotter but I am not here to complain, I am here to say just a few words in respect of two comedy brothers who lit up the faces of so many children around the world and to which very sadly, I have to announce that "Barry" from the very famous "Chuckle Brothers" passed away last night and I know many people will share with me in a moment of both thought and reflection in respect of these two excellent and most talented brothers who brought us all so much light hearted fun along the way and I know that so many people and especially children will miss the crazy and so funny world that the Chuckle Brothers brought into their lives.
RIP Barry, I am sure you will make them all laugh again in Heaven & there are many children there waiting to enjoy your performance once again.

14th August 2018

It's been a bit of a strange week for the political arena and especially Donald Trump, love him or hate him he certainly draws attention and I hear that Washington had it's protesters out on mass again saying that he is not fit to be a President and all of these protesters seem to have one thing in common, which is hypocrisy on mass. I would say he has set out to achieve something and so far is on target to get the result. The lefties would say totally the opposite and contradict every word I just said but as these two fine looking specimens were at the protest, I will leave it to your own imagination as to whether or not you feel that Trump is not fit to Govern.
So, for me, the week so far has been a little slow but I am hopeful that as the second part of the week arrives, it will become a little more exciting and speed up a little. To pass the time this week I have been rather busy around the garden and also took some time out to take some photographs while the end of summer is upon us and the farms are so busy gathering up their crops in readiness for the winter ahead. It's good to see the trees full of apples and all the berries appear in order to provide food for mother nature and the animals which live wild in my country. Whilst I was out with my camera, I was lucky enough to capture a wonderful sun set on the horizon and the strange part to the moment was when I turned around and saw the audience I had attracted which was a field of cows all being quite nosy by watching what I was doing, in itself it turned out to make quite a picture as you will see below.

If ever there was a day when I thought I was alone, only to find out I had an audience, this was it and these guys were quite an entertaining bunch when I took to taking their pictures, I was never going to get a smile but at least I never got a moo and they were such a delight when it came to the group picture and all turned up and looked gracefully into the camera lens without so much as a hesitation of any kind. One of these bulls actually separated himself from the rest and I could not resist taking his passport photo to keep in my memories of that magical moment in time that is likely to never happen again but it was rather special for me to see and I now share that moment with you all with the hope that you too will enjoy.

This Guy certainly stole the show and his interest in what I was doing was amazing. The down side was the million and one flies that attacked on mass and slightly spoiled the moment. However, magical moment in our lives are always special and this one deserved to be captured forever and as such, I shared it with you all.
As I mentioned above, I set out with the intention of capturing the sun setting over the moors between Yorkshire and Lancashire and I wasn't to be dissapointed in any way. It was a little bit of planning and an awful lot of luck on my part to be at the right place at the right time and capture the sun lighting the underside of the clouds to create a bright orange glow like fire in the skies and as you will see below, it was special. I will say at this point that I used no filters and no special affects of any kind, the orange was just as you see it and it truly was special. I took the pictures from a roadside and looking over a valley, never knowing that all the time I had an audience behind me watching every moment of the performing photographer falling about in the long grass at the side of the road. I suspect that the bulls were laughing a little inside but the one thing we all shared was the moment that the sky lit up with a bright orange glow that could be seen from miles away.

21st August 2018

Here we are again, it's a little like Deja Vous or should I say. Seen it all before and probably see it all again but whilst the world sometimes stands still, life still goes on and as such we are near to the end of August and you, me and everyone else is all thinking and wondering too much about others and not focused upon ourselves. My advice to anyone who is focused on others and not themselves is that you clearly have too much time on your shoulders and life and if you want to have a happier and less troubled life, focus on your own world and own life and ignore others.  So, lecture over and now for what I have been doing over the last seven days and it all started with the activities in my business life as well as my overseas colleagues to whom I share a great friendship and association with people I like to call my family as well as my friends. The one thing I have learned in life is that in a world where we all look the same, if you want to stand out, do something different.

This week saw me diversifying my strategies with my partner and long term fiancee to whom I have committed my life to in every way and I am very much looking forward to our next big step in our lives which will bond us forever and until the end. My business activities are also affected by virtue of the plans in place for a step by step moving forward in my life and it starts with a move away from the place I live for a break from the norm until stage two takes place. This is a significant step forward which will then allow my business life to open a new door of opportunity and one to which I have waited far too long to move forward in respect of this. Whilst I rarely share with anyone except those who are close to me what I am planning, what I will say is that the clues are in the clues and for those who follow me for negative affect must be getting rather bored of perusing the wrong corridor without ever finding the right door. You never were clever enough but at last it is coming to your........oop's and end.

He who laughs last laughs loudest and soon the only laughter in the room will be mine and the silence from the other side of the room will be the sound of fear as that long and dark corridor is a long way to come back from. The last face you will see is the one of "Peter Hulbert" and as you know, he has no soft part to his heart and no conscience when it comes to dealing with people like the two of you. Happy days are here again and the walls are closing in, the world is a small place but your place is about to be left empty. The chapter in the life and times of one Peter Hulbert is about to open a whole new era and the affect on myself, my family and my life has been more than dramatic and the changes ahead are something to which I look forward to with great anticipation.
