An August Skyline As Seen With Peter Hulbert & His Camera.
16th August 2016
It all started about 20.00pm when the sun started to drop over the pennines and sink into the distant lancashire horrizon. Below is a picture of the moon in the East reflecting the sun and creating a colourful result and even the sheep appear to change colour for a while.
A continuation of the moon rising in the East and relfecting the sun on the evening mist.
The Sun was almost down below the hillside but wonderfully positioned behind the wind turbines as if for affect but in my case, pure coincidence to which I am gratefull.
The skies are now begining to chage from pink's to purples and shortly and hopefully red's very soon.
The sun now taking it's opportunity to hide behind the wind turbines and making a wonderful skyline.
Even the vapour trails created by the aircraft are now reflecting the sun and looking very special for a change instead of the more normal white colour.
A worthy opportunity to capture the brightest part of the sun before it eventually goes away for the rest of the day.
The horrizon is looking very distant now as the evening says goodbye and makes way for the night sky. This is looking west toward Manchester and the pennines.
Below is Emley Moore TV Mast which is a very local tourist point for those who are trying to work out where I am possitioned.
The skyline now very quickly changes back to blue for a short while before eventually changing to black within about an hour.
Below is the Woodhead Pas which is one of the two majour roads across the pennines to Manchester, the other one being the world famous "Snake Pass" to which I have traveled both on many occasions and I am one of the supporters of the anticipated tunnel through the hills to which now appears to be a very likely construction project as it has just about met all the criteria and the Government are supporting the project. I understand if it is completed, it will be the worlds longest road tunnel and will go underneath all of these views in order to preserve the environment and protect the wildlife and scenery as we all know it.
The final act of the sun going down is to light up the skies with a little pice of Red sky. This is cause by the sun sinking below the clouds and reflecting back upward and lighting the underside of the cloud.
